Consumer data showed that Sour Patch Kids are eaten in New York at a higher rate than the national average. The report indicated that Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Texas, and Colorado also prefer Sour Patch Kids compared to the other 45 states not including New York.

The number one most popular candy in the U.S. overall was Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Peanut M&M’s, original M&M’s, Kit Kats, and Snickers rounded out the remainder of America’s top five.

The crown jewel of pizza, bagels, and chopped cheese sandwiches also proved to have less of a sweet tooth than a majority of the U.S. New York had 9.7% less candy sales overall than the national average, according to Instacart’s data. The report also showed that New Yorkers particularly are not fond of one of Halloween’s most iconic confections, candy corn, buying it 14.6% less than most other states.
