20-year-old arrested for alleged Amherst shooting

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 20-year-old has been charged for an alleged shooting on Joe McCarthy Drive in Amherst last month, according to Amherst police.

Keshai Hunter was arrested on Oct. 9 in connection to the alleged shooting. Hunter is accused of shooting an unidentified victim on the 300 block of Joe McCarthy in the early morning hours of Sept. 24. The victim was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Hunter is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, first-degree robbery and second-degree assault. He is being held pending arraignment.

The shooting is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Amherst Police at (716) 689-1311.
