Final in-season Mariners Prospect Rankings Update: August

The Seattle Mariners not only added impact talent in the Draft, but the club avoided moving any of their Top 10 prospects at the deadline, instead trading my No. 11, 15, 16, 26, and 41 prospects for 3B Eugenio Suarez, 1B Josh Naylor, and LHR Caleb Ferguson.

The result is a big-league roster significantly better equipped to make a run to and deep into the postseason, and a farm system still as stacked as any in baseball.

As I stated in July, the Mariners lack the truly elite prospect, at least for now, though most teams do. I’d tag maybe two or three current prospects with the elite label.

But Seattle employs several in the next tier, likely more than any other club in the game.

NOTE: Players currently on the 26-man roster or big-league IL are not eligible. This currently includes 2B Ryan Bliss. Bliss will regain prospect status in the offseason since he has amassed fewer than 130 PAs in the majors.

NOTE: 2B Cole Young (130 PA) and RHR Carlos Vargas (50 IP) have exhausted their prospect status.
