(KRON) — If there is one word to describe the San Francisco 49ers’ season, it would be “injuries.” Plenty of them.
All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner’s season-ending ankle injury on Sunday was the latest gut-punch to the team and the 49ers Faithful.
One East Bay resident, in the spirit of the Halloween season, decided to set up decorations to exhibit how banged up the 49ers are. Alameda homeowner and 49ers fan, Casey De Shong, showed KRON4 his front yard with the decorations.
The decorations include a blue medical tent with a handful of skeletons — each in a jersey of an injured 49er — waiting in line to be evaluated. Jerseys of players include Mac Jones, Brock Purdy, Nick Bosa, Ricky Pearsall, George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk and Warner.
“Every Halloween, we try to do something different as far as decorating the house,” De Shong said. “After the first game and the second game, it kind of presented itself. Unfortunately, most of the players started getting injured.”
Perhaps some good injury news for the 49ers: Brock Purdy and George Kittle are on track for a return.
Purdy (toe) returned to practice this week, but it is unknown if the franchise quarterback will play this Sunday at home against the Atlanta Falcons. Kittle (hamstring) has been out since Week 1 and was a limited participant in Thursday’s practice. The tight end says he plans to play.
“We’re all out of skeletons. So that means 49ers, we can’t deal with any more injured players,” De Shong said.
