1. Dutchess Co. man accused of threatening to kill Congress member
A Clinton man has been arrested after allegedly making terroristic threats toward a member of Congress, according to New York State Police. Christopher Moynihan, 34, faces a felony charge.
2. Authorities continue search for Ballston robbery suspect after hotel raid
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its search for the suspect of a Ballston robbery that left a woman with a broken leg. On Saturday, law enforcement officers raided a Colonie hotel in an attempt to find 32-year-old Joseph Hess of Frankfort.
3. Discover Albany resurrects Halloween festival
Halloween is fast approaching and there’s something for everyone in Albany.
4. “No Kings” protest held across the Capital Region
Thousands of people across the Capital Region turned out for what organizers call the ‘No Kings’ movement. According to the non-profit group Indivisible, more than 25,000 people joined protests across Guilderland, Saratoga Springs and Albany. In Troy, organizers said that about 2,000 people gathered at Riverfront Park.
5. Albany Diocese settles child sex abuse case for $8 million
Attorneys from Pfau Cochran Vertetis Amala PLLC announced on Friday morning that the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany settled for $8 million in a child sexual abuse lawsuit. This was settled on the eve of a jury trial and is one of seven individual lawsuits.
