The NFL’s Pro Bowl Games have seen an uptick in excitement in recent years, ever since the league scrapped the traditional AFC vs. NFC game in Hawaii.

Now, it’s encouraging to see it making more adjustments to generate interest and participation.

The league recently made a big announcement about this year’s event, which will have a new date and location tied to the Super Bowl.

“NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell officially announced that the Pro Bowl Games will now be played during Super Bowl week, on Tuesday night in prime time. This season’s event is set for Tuesday, February 3, 2026, in the Bay Area,” Ari Meirov wrote on X.

The 2026 Pro Bowl Games are scheduled to be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, which seats 4,000 people and should provide an intimate experience that will look good on television.

They will again be highlighted by a flag football game, which should draw an international focus with the sport’s upcoming debut in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Goodell said that he met with several players to discuss improvements for the Pro Bowl Games, which resulted in the switch to a weekday at the Super Bowl site, though the league hasn’t committed to that setup going forward.

The Pro Bowl was a dying entity for years, and it’s nice to see it making a comeback in recent seasons.

Hopefully, these latest changes will continue that trajectory.
