CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (NEWS10)– On Wednesday, SingleCut Beersmiths announced it will be closing its Capital Region location, SingleCut North and Side Stage Tap Room. The Clifton Park taproom will be permanently closed on December 14.
According to the announcement, the closure will allow for a beverage manufacturing and shipping company to expand.
“Our Clifton Park facility has undergone a number of production changes within the past year, most notably partnering with a new company 24×7 Packaging to offer a greater array of products to remain viable during this downturn in the brewing industry,” the announcement stated. “This new business model requires a greater scope of machinery that occupy a significantly larger footprint than our previous operations, and therefore the space for both the Tap Room as well as the event space “Side Stage” need to be claimed for such production.”
Although the taproom is closing, SingleCut will continue to distribute in the area and owners are looking to keep business in the Capital Region. In its closure announcement, the business said they would like to retain as a local designation and are looking for both a new taproom and to work with local restaurants.
“The SingleCut brand is very much alive and well and aside from this closure, and will continue to be a significant contributor to craft beer culture as well as providing world-class beer. Further to this point, we would love to retain a local destination and ask that you keep an eye out for any spot that may suit a cozy new Tap Room for us throughout the area (not just Clifton Park). Partnership inquiries with existing local restaurateurs, pub owners etc are welcome, encouraged and perhaps the best direction.”
SingleCut North is asking customers who are looking to redeem points, use gift cards or refund a cash deposit at the taproom to do so by Saturday, December 13. If point and gift cards are not redeemed by the closure, they can still be used at the Manlius and Queens locations.
The taproom will be open its normal hours, Wednesday through Sunday, until closing. For updates on the taproom, visit its Facebook page.
