COHOES, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Cohoes Public Library will be hosting the second annual Upstate Writes Book Festival on November 8. The event is slated to run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Upstate Writes will showcase the works of over 50 local authors, spanning in genre from science fiction, fantasy, and horror, to romance, mystery, and nonfiction. The festival will also host numerous vendors, concessions, and prizes, including a raffle for a leather edition copy of “Wicked” signed by Gregory Maguire.
“The Capital Region has such amazing talent,” Cohoes Public Library Director Ray LeMay said. “After our book festival was such a success last year, we knew we wanted to plan a second event to support and encourage local authors and share their work with the community.”
“We are eager for this opportunity to link local authors and the readers who support them,” said event organizer Peter Sefcik. “Our local authors offer an incredible range of stories and genres, each reflecting their diverse backgrounds and voices.”
Cohoes Public Library is located at 18 Mohawk Street. Upstate Writes Book Festival is free to attend and open to all ages.
