11/01/2025: Still Breezy, More Sun for Saturday

The Latest Storm Tracker Forecast from Meteorologist Kevin Appleby:

The winds will ease up today but especially after sunset, which happens to be our final one after 5 PM until the 26th of January. As we flip over to Standard Time, we will see a gradual uptick in temperatures to kick off this upcoming week, with limited rain chances and the occasional bought with more breezy conditions.

Localized lake-effect showers around this morning should dissipate by lunchtime with the wind easing up a bit as well an increasingly dry air mass taking hold of our region. It will remain cool though, in spite of the mild start to the day most of us experienced. Highs will be in the 40s to near 50 degrees.

The winds will fall off overnight, likely becoming totally calm by Sunday morning. This does mean patchy fog is possible on the valley floor, but more notably perhaps is that most areas will end up near or below freezing by Sunday morning. Of course, we will turn the clocks back one hour tonight, meaning the sunrise Sunday will be at 6:30 AM.

The first day in Standard time will feature quite a bit of sunshine, a light breeze, and slightly below-normal high temperatures. It will be a step up from today, with more areas reaching 50 for the second half of the weekend.

Temperatures spike as high pressure shifts to our east ahead of our next system, with a run for 60 degrees likely. Clouds will be on the increase with late-day showers associated with a cold front. While temperatures won’t take a big hit behind this boundary for Tuesday with highs in the low to mid 50s, there will be another gusty wind to contend with by then (similar to today’s winds, less than Halloween’s winds).

A bright start Wednesday will turn mostly cloudy, with showers expected once again around sunset and beyond (keep in mind, sunsets are now prior to 5 PM). The best chance for some wet weather through this 7-Day Forecast is Wednesday night, but one or two of those showers (or mountain snow showers) may linger into Thursday here and there. A breeze kicks in for the end of the work week with highs in the lower 50s. A bright start to Friday should once again fade behind more PM cloud cover.
