Patchy fog and cooler weather expected in San Diego this week

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI)— Low pressure will bring cooler and breezier conditions to the county at the beginning of the week.

After a warmer than normal weekend, temperatures begin to cool down to seasonal averages during the week.

Overnight lows will fall to the 40s for the inland valleys and mountains; meanwhile, the coast and deserts will drop to the upper 50s.

Along the coast, overnight patchy, dense fog could reduce visibility through the morning hours. The fog and low clouds could extend into the western inland valleys.

A Pacific storm will move closer to the West Coast helping temperatures to cool off on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Wednesday and Thursday are forecasted to be the coolest days. Gusts in the mountains and deserts could reach up to 40 mph, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

NWS reports that more low cloud coverage will impact the mountains.

Warmer weather is expected to return toward the end of the week. Inland valleys are expected to reach the upper 70s to low 80s by Friday.
