The Tennessee Titans never hesitated in taking quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

They shut down all trade inquiries and felt that they had found their guy.

Unfortunately, he hasn’t looked like the answer in the first nine games of his career.

Despite that, former Titans defensive tackle Dre’Mont Jones is sending a confident message about Ward’s future.

“Cam is the truth too, y’all give ‘em time, he can be great!” Jones wrote on X.

Ward looks to have the physical tools to be a franchise QB.

He’s made some impressive plays, and he clearly has enough confidence in himself to be a leader.

He’s also turned heads with his relentless work ethic.

Also, it’s worth noting that his coaching situation wasn’t ideal, shown by Brian Callahan getting fired, so people do need to cut Ward some slack.

That being said, he has plenty of things to clean up as well.

His decision-making has been poor at times, and his tendency toward hero ball can be detrimental.

He also needs to improve his footwork and mechanics.

On the positive side, most of his flaws can be coached and corrected, and he seems to have an “it factor” that cannot be taught.

This season, he’s completed 57.6 percent of his passes for 1,760 yards with five touchdowns and six interceptions, adding 18 carries for 46 rushing yards.
