Will Robertson claimed off waivers by Pirates; four White Sox players outrighted to Triple-A Charlotte

The White Sox announced five roster moves on Monday.

Outfielder Will Robertson was claimed off waivers by the Pirates. He batted .133/.159/.150 with a .309 OPS over 24 games with the Sox. Robertson filled in during center fielder Luis Robert Jr.’s absence.

The Sox also outrighted outfielders Corey Julks and Dominic Fletcher, and right-handers Owen White and Elvis Peguero to Triple-A Charlotte.

Julks appeared in six games, batting .250/.231/.417 with a .647 OPS. Fletcher came up in September and batted .219/.265/.469 with a .733 OPS.

White appeared in three games for the Sox, sporting a 9.00 ERA. Peguero posted a 13.50 ERA over two games.

The Sox’ 40-man roster stands at 35.

Entering Thursday, Vaughn was batting .286/.444/.714 in the playoffs.
Pitching coach Ethan Katz and hitting coach Marcus Thames are out, along with catching coach Drew Butera and first-base coach Jason Bourgeois.
The Sox’ hopes for the future were on display in a season-ending victory Sunday. But another triple-digit-loss season still isn’t easier to swallow.
The Gold Glove-winning Lake Forest native and World Series champion called it a career at the ballpark where it all started for him.
