OpenAI is reportedly preparing to introduce targeted ads within ChatGPT. According to The Information, some senior leaders, many of them former Meta employees, see ads as a major revenue opportunity, even suggesting personalisation using the chatbot’s memory data. CEO Sam Altman, once sceptical, now calls ads “somewhat distasteful but not a nonstarter,” signalling a clear softening of his stance.
