2 Key Steelers Players Could Miss Browns Game

The Cleveland Browns are heading into Pittsburgh this weekend for a battle with their AFC North rivals, and the Browns will be looking to end a long drought as they haven’t beaten the Steelers in Pittsburgh in the regular season since 2003.

It’s a daunting task for rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel, but he looked poised in Week 5 and could be the guy to break the streak, especially with two key Steelers trending toward being inactive.

The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo shared on X that cornerback Jalen Ramsey and receiver Calvin Austin III haven’t practiced all week and are trending in the wrong direction.

Everyone else on the injury report looks like they will be good to go, including linebacker Alex Highsmith, who is working his way back from a high ankle sprain that he suffered in Week 2.

Steelers fans surely had hoped they’d be a bit healthier coming out of a bye week, as Ramsey and Austin would both be big absences regardless of who the opponent is.

Ramsey would have likely been the main receiver tasked with covering Browns WR1 Jerry Jeudy, who is far and away the focal point of Cleveland’s passing game.

Even though the Browns are 1-4, there is a lot of pressure on the Steelers to ensure this streak continues and the Browns don’t get their first road win against their AFC North rivals in 22 years.

Cleveland’s defense has been one of the best in the league so far, so Aaron Rodgers and company will have their hands full.

It should be a fun matchup, and hopefully for Steelers fans, everyone can get healthy sooner rather than later.
