(KRON) — Alaska Airlines has temporarily grounded all its flights due to an IT outage late Thursday afternoon, the airline announced on social media.
As of 8 p.m., the airline is “actively restoring (its) operations following an IT outage,” Alaska Airlines posted on X.
Alaska Airlines operates at San Francisco International Airport, Oakland Airport and San Jose Mineta International Airport.
The outage’s impact at SFO is “minimal,” airport spokesperson Doug Yakel tells KRON4. According to FlightAware, as of 8 p.m., there are 30 delays for Alaska Airlines flights at SFO and zero cancellations.
“A temporary ground stop is in place. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you’re scheduled to fly tonight, please check your flight status before heading to the airport,” Alaska Airlines posted on X.
The airline made the announcement on social media at 4:21 p.m. No other details were immediately available.
