COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — An Albany woman has been arrested after she allegedly stabbed someone at a hotel in Colonie. The Colonie Police Department said Ronita Roberts, 44, also had an active arrest warrant out of Colonie for failure to appear.
Police were called to the Econo Lodge Inn and Suites on Central Avenue on Saturday around 2:30 a.m. for the reports of a stabbing. The victim said that a woman who he just met stabbed him twice in the back and took off.
The victim provided a description of the woman. He was treated and is expected to make a full recovery, said police.
New York State Troopers soon after found Roberts, who matched the description from the victim, walking near Central Avenue and arrested her. After an investigation, police said that she allegedly stabbed the victim and left the the knife at the Days Inn Hotel on Central Avenue. The knife was recovered by Colonie police.
Charges
- Second-degree assault (felony)
- Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (felony)
- Failure to appear for a previous misdemeanor charge
Roberts was arraigned in Colonie Town Court. She was remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility pending a preliminary hearing.
