(KRON) — Thousands of people are gathering around the Bay Area Saturday as part of the second “No Kings” protest held across the U.S. in opposition of President Donald Trump’s political actions.
“The president thinks his rule is absolute,” the website for the nationwide protest reads. “But in America, we don’t have kings and we won’t back down against chaos, corruption, and cruelty.”

Local protesters are rallying in Alameda, Albany, Berkeley, Calistoga, Cotati, Corte Madera, El Cerrito, Fremont, Half Moon Bay, Hayward, Healdsburg, Hercules, Mill Valley, Milpitas, Napa, Novato, Oakland, Pacifica, Palo Alto, Petaluma Redwood City, San Francisco, San Jose, San Leandro, San Rafael, Sausalito, Sunnyvale, Union City and Vallejo.
Thousands of people in the Bay Area also gathered for the first “No Kings” protest held in June in response to a military parade held on Trump’s birthday.
“In June, we did what many claimed was impossible: peacefully mobilized millions of people to take to the streets and declare with one voice: America has No Kings,” the No Kings website reads. “And it mattered. The world saw the power of the people. President Trump’s birthday parade was drowned out by protests in every state and across the globe. His attempt to turn June 14 into a coronation collapsed, and the story became the strength of a movement rising against his authoritarian power grabs.”
