Bronx BMW driver dies after crashing into elevated subway tracks support pillar

A 46-year-old BMW driver died early Sunday after he slammed into a support pillar underneath elevated subway tracks in the Bronx, police said.

The driver was zipping south on Jerome Ave. in Fordham Heights when he sideswiped an I-beam supporting the overhead No. 4 train tracks near E. 181st St. just before 4:30 a.m., cops said.

He then veered away, over-corrected and crashed his 2022 BMW 330i into another I-beam head-on, cops said.

Medics rushed the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital but he could not be saved. His name was not immediately released.
