Brooklyn woman dies after being struck by wind-blown solar panel, officials say

The city’s Department of Buildings said the 41-inch by 87-inch panel became disconnected from a steel carport structure at an outdoor parking lot in South Brooklyn. The wind blew it into a nearby walking path, where it hit Braun.

Officials said Lyudmila Braun, 76, was fatally struck in the head by a solar panel that had been detached by strong winds. [ more › ]
