There is no doubt that Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets is one of the best players in the NBA, but people debate what makes him so special.
But everyone agrees that he has a temperament and mind that make him unlike anyone else.
Carmelo Anthony talked about Jokic on NBC, and he summed up why he is so special.
According to Anthony, it’s Jokic’s patience and connection to his team that sets him above everyone else.
“He’s patient. He’s connected with his group of guys. The Denver offense understands that everything goes through Joker. He has the best set of eyes in the NBA right now. What he’s able to do orchestrating that offense, I just love the position Joker be is on the court,” Anthony said.

When Anthony says that Jokic has the best set of eyes in the league, he means that Jokic can strategize and plan better than anyone else.
At many times, it feels like he has eyes in the back of his head, and he’s able to see his teammates and predict where they will be five to ten steps down the line.
It’s no surprise that Denver’s offense runs through Jokic.
The man is able to create his own buckets or locate and assist the rest of the roster.
Jokic can do it all and does so night after night.
As predicted, 2025-26 has had an explosive start, and he has averaged 20.0 points, 15.3 rebounds, and 11.7 assists during the first three games.
He has become a walking triple-double machine over the last few years and looks to keep it up this season.
Earning so many triple-doubles proves that Jokic can do everything, which further proves Anthony’s point that no one can see and run the floor like him.
