The Los Angeles Chargers just can’t catch a break.
Not having star OT Joe Alt was a massive blow to the offense, and now, their running game has also taken a massive hit.
Newly arrived Najee Harris had never missed a single game in his pro career, and he’s now out for the season with a major injury.
Now, to – literally – add insult to injury, they’ve also lost star rookie Omarion Hampton.
And according to a report by Underdog NFL, he’s not going to be back soon:
“Garafolo: Omarion Hampton (ankle) expected to miss more than 4 weeks,” via Underdog NFL.

Hampton was having a strong rookie season.
Through his first five games as a pro, the UNC product had turned 66 carries into 314 rushing yards, two touchdowns, and 17 first downs.
He posted a 47 percent success rate on his runs, averaging a respectable 4.8 rushing yards per game.
He had also hauled in 20 receptions on 22 targets for 136 yards and five first downs.
The Chargers have a very talented quarterback in Justin Herbert.
Unfortunately, he also has a long history of turning the ball over and failing to get the job done when the game is on the line, playing way below his usual level.
Also, with head coach Jim Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Greg Roman usually taking a run-heavy approach, they clearly need to add more firepower to that unit.
Injuries can derail a promising season.
And with the November 4 trade deadline less than one month away, the Chargers front office will need to make sure to make a move before it’s too late for this team.
