Things haven’t gone as planned for the Los Angeles Chargers.

Jim Harbaugh’s team got off to a strong start to the season, but once again, injuries have gotten in the way.

Losing star OT Joe Alt has been a massive blow to the offense.

However, their lack of a running game might hurt them even more.

They lost Najee Harris with a season-ending injury, and reports about star rookie Omarion Hampton aren’t necessarily encouraging.

With that in mind, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise to hear that they want to bring in some more help.

According to a report by NFL Network insiders Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport, the Chargers are keeping an eye on the running back trade market:

As things stand now, the Chargers’ running game is left with the likes of Hassan Haskins, Kimani Vidal, and Amar Johnson.

With all due respect, that’s not much of a contender.

Of course, offensive coordinator Greg Roman and Coach Harbaugh will always find a way to put the running game in a position to succeed, but still.

Justin Herbert is incredibly talented, and he can make every throw in the book.

Even still, he also has a long history of shortcomings and turnovers when the game is on the line, and they need to take pressure off his shoulders with the running game.

And with options like Alvin Kamara, De’Von Achane, and Breece Hall potentially up for grabs, the Chargers should be able to land a big-name reinforcement.
