(KRON) — An East Bay bakery known for small-batch, hand-crafted European-style breads is closing this month. Alameda’s The Feel Good Bakery, which operates two locations on the island, will close on Oct. 31, according to a notice on its website.
The Feel Good Bakery opened its first location in 2004 at the Alameda Marketplace on Park Street. That location, along with the bakery’s second location at the Encinal Shopping Center, is due to close at the end of the month.
“To our valued customers, it is with deep appreciation and heavy hearts that we share the difficult news that Feel Good Bakery will be closing, effective Friday, October 31, 2025 at 12 p.m.,” the bakery said on its website.
“This was not an easy decision, and it comes only after thoughtful consideration of all available options,” the notice continued. “For years we’ve had the opportunity and privilege of serving you and the entire Alameda community. Your kindness and support throughout the years have meant the world to us and each of you has contributed greatly to our success over the years.”
As the bakery approaches its final day of business, it will not be accepting online or preorders, the notice said. All products will be available solely on a first-come, first-serve basis. Any outstanding preorders will be refunded, the bakery said.
“While this part of our journey comes to an end, the memories and relationships we’ve built will remain something we will always cherish,” the notice concluded. “From all of us here at Feel Good Bakery, thank you for allowing us the opportunity to spread joy and celebration.”
The bakery gave no reason for the abrupt closure announcement.
