JOHNSTOWN, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the reported theft of a dog from the Johnstown Animal Shelter. The dog has been missing for more than 10 days.

The dog, a two-year-old Rottweiler mix named Reese, was allegedly stolen from the shelter on October 4 after reportedly being brought to the facility in connection to an open abuse case. Johnstown Town Clerk Caitlin Hart confirmed with NEWS10 that the dog still has not been recovered as of Wednesday, and that the shelter is extremely concerned for his well being.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone who sees Reese is asked to refrain from approaching and should instead immediately contact the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office by calling (518)736-2100.
