Man shot, attacked with hammer in SF’s Tenderloin

(BCN) — A 22-year-old man was shot and attacked with a hammer in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood on Tuesday night, police said. The shooting was reported at 10:19 p.m. in the first block of Willow Street, located a few blocks north of City Hall.

The victim was arguing with someone when two male suspects walked up and attacked him, according to San Francisco police.

One suspect hit the man with a hammer multiple times and the second suspect shot him. The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, police said.

Investigators have not arrested the two suspects or released detailed descriptions of them. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the SFPD tip line at 415-575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with SFPD at the start of the message.
