The Seattle Seahawks are averaging just 3.7 yards per carry this season, ranking near the bottom of the league in rushing efficiency.
Head coach Mike Macdonald acknowledged the need for improvement in the run game, but that straightforward assessment may hint at deeper changes ahead.
NFL insider Tony Pauline reports growing speculation about a potential blockbuster trade that could reshape Seattle’s offensive identity, with Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane emerging as the rumored target.
“The Seahawks could move Riq Woolen among other assets for Dolphins RB De’Von Achane should Achane become available,” per Tony Pauline.

Pauline noted the framework of a possible deal, suggesting Seattle could package cornerback Riq Woolen along with other assets to acquire Achane.
Woolen, a Pro Bowler as a rookie, has struggled in coverage this season and is reportedly on the trade block.
His talent and name recognition could attract interest from multiple teams seeking secondary help.
Meanwhile, Miami’s roster struggles have fueled speculation about potential moves, though no official reports indicate the Dolphins are shopping Achane.
Trading Achane would be surprising given his contract runs through 2026 and his explosiveness fits Miami’s offensive scheme.
The Dolphins could instead pursue a long-term deal with the 26-year-old Woolen, betting he returns to Pro Bowl form when the team becomes more competitive.
However, any Woolen-for-Achane swap would likely require Seattle to surrender significant draft capital beyond the cornerback.
That steep price could make the deal impractical unless the Seahawks believe Achane transforms their offense immediately and justifies the investment moving forward.
