ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The 29th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is set for Saturday, October 25. The Drug Enforcement Administration hosts this day to provide residents with a way to safely dispose of their unused medication.
These events are held every April and October. Here’s where you can drop off your unused and unwanted medication in the Capital Region on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The medications can be disposed of in the original packaging or a sealed bag. In April, 4,472 law enforcement agencies participated in this national event. There were 4,590 total collection sites, which collected 620,321 pounds of unwanted medication.
