Golden Gate Park sexual battery suspect charged

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Dominick Jeremiah Valle-Buitrago, the 19-year-old who stands accused of sexually assaulting a child in a Golden Gate Park restroom on Oct. 23, was formally charged in San Francisco County Superior Court Monday.

Valle-Buitrago was arrested Thursday in Pleasant Hill. The San Francisco District Attorney’s Office charged Valle-Buitrago with aggravated kidnapping, committing forcible lewd acts upon a child, assault with intent to commit a felony of a person under the age of 18, committing a lewd act upon a child, kidnapping and false imprisonment.

Valle-Buitrago is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in Department 19 at the Hall of Justice.

“The District Attorney’s Office is moving to have Mr. Valle-Buitrago detained without bail pending trial because of the public safety risk he poses,” the DA’s office said.

The case remains under investigation.
