The Utah Jazz recently showed that they are willing to make certain moves, but they have held tightly to their two biggest stars: Lauri Markkanen and Walker Kessler.

However, according to Jake Fischer, their opinion about cutting ties with Kessler could change soon.

The Jazz will reportedly decide in the coming months whether to act upon “ongoing trade interest” for Kessler, and there has been no momentum toward an extension for the 24-year-old center.

Kessler has been an important part of the Jazz since being drafted by the team in 2022.

Like Markkanen, he has been seen as the future of the team and someone to build around.

However, people are starting to wonder if it’s time for the team to just let him go.

The Jazz have been quietly trying to build something special over the last few years, but it hasn’t paid off yet.

Fans are growing impatient, and they want the front office to shake things up now if they aren’t going to become true playoff contenders soon.

Speaking of that, most analysts predict another tough season for the Jazz, with some people expecting them to be the worst team in the league.

Perhaps that means it’s time to give up on Kessler, despite all the talent and promise he has.

He’s a young big man with a lot of upside and signs of growth, so a number of teams would leap at the chance to sign him.

The Jazz are hard to read, and it’s difficult to predict what they will do, so there is a chance they end up creating an extension for Kessler.

But, right now, it sounds like his future in Utah is very murky.
