The Green Bay Packers entered the season with Super Bowl aspirations.
Adding Micah Parsons to their already impressive defense only made them more of a contender.
However, as good as the pass rush department has been this season, the secondary has left plenty to be desired.
A lot of that has had to do with Nate Hobbs.
With that in mind, Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report chose him as one of the most disappointing players in the league this season:
“CB Nate Hobbs,” Gagnon wrote. “Fresh off signing a four-year, $48 million contract in the 2025 offseason, the veteran has surrendered a 121.4 passer rating in coverage and has yet to make an impact play.”
Truth be told, it’s hard to argue with that statement.
Hobbs had shown the potential to be a star at the position, but that hasn’t been the case at all this season.
He’s been on the wrong side of some big plays, and while he’s not the only reason why the Packers haven’t been as dominant in the past month as they were in the first two games of the season, he certainly hasn’t done much to help their case, either.
This Packers team has bigger aspirations, and with the November 4 trade deadline looming, GM Brian Gutekunst might have to work around the clock to find a much-needed improvement at this position.
This team will get Christian Watson back on the field, and Jayden Reed will also be back at some point in the near future.
That’s to say that this team can certainly go toe-to-toe with anybody that comes across them.
But as much as they can star in some shootouts, you need defense to win championships.
