Stoyan Popov’s goal off a Diego Roman assist was the lone goal Nantucket (11-4-1) needed to beat Dennis-Yarmouth 1-0 in Cape and Islands League action.

Girls soccer

In the MVADA semifinals, Jenna Lehane and Caoilainn Knight each netted a goal to go with an assist as top-seeded Blue Hills (11-3-3) defeated No. 4 Bay Path, 2-1.

CC Levrault (two assists) and Annie Smith scored two goals each as Apponequet (15-1-1) bested West Bridgewater 6-0 in the South Coast Conference.

With a 1-1 tie against Marblehead, Winthrop secured a share of the Northeastern Conference title for the first time in program history.

Sophomore Brianna Ramos netted four goals and junior Libby Harper added a hat trick, fueling a six-goal second half Hull (8-5-3) used to beat Abington 7-2 in South Shore League play.
