The Green Bay Packers had a few concerns heading into the 2025 season, but one of the most pressing was about their pass-catching room.
Everyone was interested to see how the target share would break down, who the top receiver would be, and if Matthew Golden could emerge as the WR1 they drafted him to be.
Golden is certainly starting to showcase why he was taken in the first round, but even with him stepping up, Jordan Love keeps spreading the ball around.
He trusts his pass-catchers to rise to the occasion when he gets them the ball, which has worked out well thus far.
In fact, as analyst Matt Schneidman noted on X, Love and Aaron Rodgers are the only two players in the NFL who haven’t targeted a single player 10+ times in a game this year.
Only two starting QBs in the NFL haven’t targeted a player 10 or more times in a game this season:

This is ironic, of course, given Rodgers’ history with the Packers, but it showcases that neither of these QBs necessarily has someone on their roster to pepper with targets.
Rodgers has found great success with DK Metcalf this year, his top receiver, but he still provides opportunities to the other wideouts and tight ends on the roster.
Tucker Kraft and Romeo Doubs lead the Packers with 18 receptions apiece this year, but Josh Jacobs and Golden aren’t far behind, having 15 and 14, respectively.
To this point, Love hasn’t needed to target one specific player above others to win football games, but it will be interesting to see if that changes as the season progresses.
Spreading the ball around keeps the defense guessing, a strategy that could lead to great success down the road.
