The NBA season is now only a few days away, but Russell Westbrook is still without a team.

There is a very good chance that he won’t be in the league when 2025-26 kicks off, which would be a wild development for the former MVP.

He could be back in a jersey later in the season, and a few teams are frontrunners to sign him.

According to BetUS NBA, the Dallas Mavericks are now in the mix for Westbrook.

The Sacramento Kings still have the best odds with +150, followed by the Houston Rockets and Mavericks with +200, and then the Golden State Warriors with +300 and the New York Knicks with +350.

No one knows when or if Westbrook will sign with any team, but these are the squads to keep a close eye on.

The Kings have been reportedly linked to Westbrook for months.

In fact, reports from inside the league said they were the only team actually interested in him.

When Fred VanVleet went down with his injury, some people thought the Rockets would take a run at Westbrook, but that didn’t end up happening.

Right now, his options are limited, but that could change in the months ahead.

Bad track records and unexpected injuries have a way of making teams reassess their rosters and make big, unexpected moves.

Westbrook certainly has his issues, but he could help out several teams and still has an undeniable drive and motor during every game.

He would also be acquired on a cheap salary, which means he would come with a low cost and low risk.

It might not be at the start of the season, but Westbrook could be back in the NBA soon.
