Mariners Prospect Rankings Update: July

The Seattle Mariners’ farm system is pretty darned good, and is about to get better in Atlanta next week with the club owning four picks inside the Top 100, and two in the Top 35 — including No. 3 overall.

Despite the quality, however, two things stand out:

1) There’s no apparent star in it, though there are numerous upsides that reach such status.

2) Injuries have been a factor with three of the top seven talents.

But the thing that stands out most through the first half is the incredible progress of the top position players in the system.

Infielders Cole Young and Ben Williamson are in the majors. Harry Ford, Tyler Locklear, Michael Arroyo, and Lazaro Montes are all having outstanding seasons with meaningful development as the driving force, and all are within two levels of the show.

NOTE: Players currently on the 26-man roster or big-league IL are not eligible.
