Boston Celtics fans have made peace with the idea of not seeing Jayson Tatum in the 2025-26 season due to his injury.
But that may be premature, because Tatum might be able to make an appearance on the court at some point this year.
Chris Haynes revealed new reporting on Tatum, and it will give the Celtics hope.
“Based off of what [Jayson Tatum] texted me, I think we will see him at some point during the regular season. He told me he’s working out three times per week, 45-minute sessions. He said he’s 23 weeks out from when he underwent surgery, and he’s feeling good,” Haynes said.

An Achilles injury is no joke, and the rehabilitation process is painfully slow, which is why the Celtics thought they wouldn’t get any of Tatum in the new year.
Even as he said he was doing everything he could to get better, people didn’t think things would change.
And when videos of Tatum on a practice court emerged, fans still weren’t too optimistic.
But this reporting, along with all those other pieces of good news, might point to Tatum’s return before the playoffs.
It all depends on what his doctors say and what the team thinks is best.
If the Celtics are out of playoff contention, they will probably urge Tatum to stay off the court and make sure he is 100 percent for next season.
They don’t want to reaggravate his injury and make matters worse.
But if Boston has a chance in the postseason, they could encourage Tatum to suit up and get back with his team.
Tatum obviously wants to play, and he is working hard to get back in great shape, but injuries like this don’t always cooperate.
Still, there is no doubt that things are definitely trending in the right direction.
