Life hasn’t been easy for Nick Nurse since he became head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers.
Because of injuries, he has been constantly updating and changing his lineup, and the new season may not be any different.
Speaking to the media, Nurse talked about his options for the power forward position in 2025-26.
“I think there’s kind of an open position at the four, especially right now with Paul [George] not being quite ready yet. There’s a number of guys that we are trying to work into that spot. [Adem Bona] is just another one. What do I like about it? Like you saw today, he’s probably going to be more of the five. He’s going to play down towards the basket and rim protect,” Nurse said.

Adem Bona is about to start his season with the Sixers after producing 5.8 points and 4.2 rebounds across 58 games last year.
In any other year, Bona would probably be a bench player for the whole season, but the Sixers could bring him into the starting five if their injury problem doesn’t go away.
The idea of Bona alongside Joel Embiid sounds punishing to other teams, but Nurse might not be able to allow the two to work together.
Embiid has his own set of injury issues, and his time on the court this year could be severely limited once again.
It’s clear that Nurse is considering that and leaving open all possibilities.
He is going to turn to every corner of his roster in order to get the most out of his players.
Nurse has been adjusting his approach to this team since coming on board, and he will be doing that again in the new season.
