SF woman faces attempted murder charge after stabbing man in neck: Petaluma police

(KRON) — A 28-year-old San Francisco woman faces several charges, including attempted murder, after she allegedly stabbed a man in his neck during an early morning argument Tuesday.

Petaluma police said their dispatch center was alerted by the victim at 2:04 a.m. Officers soon responded to the 400 block of Lindberg Circle, along with medics with the Petaluma Fire Department.

Officers found the man at the scene suffering from a non-life-threatening injury who was then taken to a nearby hospital. A woman contacted at the location, later identified as Catherine Vasquez, was arrested after police found probable cause.

It is not clear what led to the altercation, and police did not disclose the exact relationship of the two.

Vasquez also faces charges of domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon.

Police are continuing to investigate.
