POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department (CPPD) announced on Friday that an arrest was made in connection to a homicide that took place earlier this month. Anthony Taylor, 18, of Poughkeepsie, was charged with second-degree murder.

Police responded to reports of a shooting at the corner of Main and Garden Streets in Poughkeepsie around 5:20 p.m. on October 3. Officers arriving to the scene found 22-year-old Gabriel Mosca of Hyde Park, who had been shot multiple times.

Mosca later died from his injuries at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital. Taylor was identified as a suspect during the ensuing investigation and was taken into custody in Maryland on October 16 by FBI Safe Streets Task Force agents and U.S. Marshals.

Taylor faces an extradition hearing in Maryland prior to his return to Dutchess County for further proceedings in the case. Anyone with information regarding the ongoing investigation is asked to contact CPPD by calling (845)451-7577.
