Parents fight for coverage of daughter’s ear reconstruction

NBC News’ Camila Bernal reports in our series “The Cost of Denial” about the special surgery eight-year-old Olivia Olson needed to reconstruct her ear. The surgeon was initially not covered by insurance. Olivia’s parents decided to move forward anyway despite the high cost, and then, with their daughter already in the operating room, learned the denial had been reversed.
