St. Louis baker appears on Netflix’s ‘Is It Cake?’

BALLWIN, Mo. – Brad Lamb, a baker and cake decorator at Celebrating Life Cake Boutique, a St. Louis area bakery, appears in a special Halloween season of Netflix’s series “Is It Cake?” which premiered on Oct. 8.

The show explores the art of cake decorating, where skilled bakers create hyper-realistic replicas of just about any everyday item and try to fool judges. It could be anything from handbags or sewing machines, to tacos, red Solo cups, or even toys.

The show was inspired by a popular meme with the same name that was going around the internet around mid 2020, where people would react to videos and try to guess if an object was cake or not.

“They can expect to be really impressed” Lamb said. “I was on the stage with most of the cakes, you couldn’t tell what was real, what was cake. We were all just very talented artists”.
