Ravena holds off Schalmont to improve to 5-2

RAVENA, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk and Schalmont football teams both entered the week 4-2 on the season, tied for third in the Class B standings. Something had to give when the two squads met Friday night.

Mason Carkner ran for two touchdowns in the first half to give the Ravens a 14-0 lead. Schalmont tallied points just before the half, as Dakahrie Jackson linked up with Vinny Zido for a short touchdown to make it 14-6 at the break.

Ravena held off Schalmont in the second half, though, coming away with a 21-18 victory.
