The New York Giants are now 2-1 in the Jaxson Dart era.

The early results have been quite encouraging, and while he’s made some rookie-like mistakes, he’s playing with the confidence of someone who knows his time has come.

That’s not much of a surprise for everybody in the building.

According to a report by Dianna Russini of The Athletic, people in the organization always expected him to dominate; they just didn’t want to throw him into the fire too early:

Dart has brought back life to Brian Daboll’s team.

Dart looked poised and in control of the offense in the preseason, and even without Malik Nabers, that hasn’t changed since he was given the keys to ignition.

Through three games, the Ole Miss product has completed nearly 66 percent of his passes for 508 yards, four passing touchdowns, and two picks.

He needs to do a better job of avoiding unnecessary contact and not taking as many big hits; perhaps his fellow rookie RB Cam Skattebo isn’t a good influence in that regard.

But so far, he’s looked like he belongs, and he should be the future of the franchise.

On the other hand, that should also be the end of the line for Russell Wilson, who was booed off the field after failing to complete his lone pass attempt in the home win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
