The Houston Rockets are looking to make a statement during the first game of the NBA season on Tuesday night.

They will challenge the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder and are using a lineup that will gain a ton of attention.

The Rockets will start with Amen Thompson, Kevin Durant, Jabari Smith Jr., Alperen Sengun, and Steven Adams.

That is quite literally a huge group of players.

“Houston will now have the tallest starting lineup in NBA history,” Evan Sidery posted on X.

The Rockets were already a large team, but they got even bigger when they lost Fred VanVleet.

VanVleet would have easily been the smallest star on the team, especially alongside these players.

His absence hurt the team in many ways, but it does give head coach Ime Udoka a chance to use this large lineup.

But there is no guarantee that it’ll bring them a much-needed win on Opening Night.

This team has size, but it lacks ball-handling skills, something that VanVleet is terrific at.

It’ll be interesting to see who Udoka relies on for moving the ball and making plays.

There is no doubt that all of these stars can score, but the team needs more than that, especially against a team as fierce as the Thunder.

This is the lineup for the first game, but it could change in the days or weeks ahead.

However, if they are able to earn a win against the Thunder, fans should expect to see these five stars in the starting lineup more often.

This massive group is a bold choice from Udoka, and people are eager to see if it pays off.
