Six weeks into the NFL season, the league’s hierarchy is becoming clearer as struggling teams expose coaching flaws.

The Tennessee Titans made the first significant move by firing Brian Callahan on Monday after he posted a 4-19 record across 23 games.

The decision has intensified scrutiny on other coaches facing similar pressure.

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith recently offered his prediction on who might follow Callahan out the door, pointing to two coaches whose situations look increasingly unstable.

“Brian Callahan has now been fired as the head coach of the Tennessee Titans. I’m willing to guess for you, ladies and gentlemen. Mike McDaniels of the Dolphins won’t be far behind. And it’s entirely possible that neither will Aaron Glenn of the New York Jets. I’m just guessing. But I think both situations look very, very bad,” Smith said on The Stephen A. Smith Show.

The Miami Dolphins and New York Jets have become the focal points of coaching speculation as both franchises struggle through disastrous starts.

Miami sits at 1-5 following a crushing loss to the Chargers, with their only victory coming against the winless Jets.

The team competed hard in that defeat, offering McDaniel brief credit, but any goodwill evaporated when Tua Tagovailoa publicly criticized teammates for arriving late to a players-only meeting.

That moment reflected poorly on both the quarterback and his coach, raising questions about leadership and accountability within the organization.

The Jets remain winless at 0-6 despite multiple opportunities to secure their first victory.

While the roster lacks elite talent, Glenn’s questionable decisions have magnified the team’s struggles and drawn heavy criticism.

As the season reaches its midpoint, both coaches face mounting pressure to turn their teams around quickly or risk joining Callahan in the unemployment line.
