Coming into this season, there were so many questions about Jonathan Kuminga of the Golden State Warriors.
People weren’t sure how well he would play, and even more wondered how long he’d be with the team.
So far, Kuminga has had a great season, and head coach Steve Kerr is very impressed.
Speaking to NBC, Kerr talked about Kuminga’s improved passing game.
“[Jonathan Kuminga’s] passing has improved dramatically. He has made so many good passes, not only in games but also in practices,” Kerr said. “I think he’s seeing the floor better. I just like the approach, I like the vibe that he’s bringing. He’s confident. He definitely feels like part of the team and what we’re trying to do. After all the contract stuff I just think his teammates have been so good, Jimmy [Butler], Steph [Curry], [Draymond Green] all welcoming him back with open arms and reminding him that contract stuff is contract stuff.”
There was a time when it seemed like Kuminga and the Warriors would never share a good vibe again.
For the last couple of seasons, Kuminga hasn’t been sure of his place in the lineup.
Kerr wasn’t willing to give him a lot of time on the court, and Kuminga was unhappy with his lack of minutes and responsibilities.
After months of speculation and rumors, Kuminga finally signed a new deal with the Warriors, but the concerns and questions about him remained.
He’s come out of the gate with drive, authority, and determination.
He seems dedicated to this team and helping them win as much as possible, no matter what the future holds.
Kerr and many others have noticed Kuminga’s improvements.
