Steve McLaughlin, candidate for Rensselaer Co. Executive, talks issues with NEWS10

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — It’s the final weekend before the November general election, and candidates are stumping for votes. Steve McLaughlin is trying to win his third term as Rensselaer County Executive.

The republican says during his two terms, sales tax revenue is up and the county’s property tax rates are down. McLaughlin notes the last eight years have been very productive.

“I said I was going to grow the county, I said I was going to modernize government, and I did,” said McLaughlin. He adds, “We paved every road like I said I would. I built an emergency training center. We did all of those things and more.”

McLaughlin sat down with NEWS10 to discuss the issues facing Rensselaer County.
