Woman dies following hit-and-run by SUV driver she’d been talking to in East Harlem

A 37-year-old woman died after a SUV driver plowed into her in East Harlem and then fled, cops said Monday.

The woman was standing near the driver’s side door, which was slightly open, and was talking to the driver, who was double-parked around 2:16 a.m. near East 118 St. and 3rd Ave., cops said.

The drive then suddenly hit the gas and struck the woman, cops said.

The woman fell to the gound and the driver fled east on East 118th St., police said. EMS rushed the woman to Harlem Hospital, where she later died.

Police said the search for the SUV driver is ongoing.
