The P/PTSD Perspective: Rookie Debut, Another Lineup Decision, and Vikings Bench Starter

PurplePTSD works in partnership with Vikings Territory, similarly doing their utmost to offer top-notch coverage of the Minnesota Vikings. As a result, we’re promoting five of their top articles of the past week in “The P/PTSD Perspective.” Take a peek at some of their best stuff.

The P/PTSD Perspective: October 25th, 2025

1) Vikings Rookie Set to Make His NFL Debut: During training camp, Tyler Batty created a ruckus. The rugged defensive lineman has the kind of size that allows Brian Flores to move him around. Any chance that he ends up being a contributor for the rest of the season?

2) Pretty Quietly, Vikings Slide Another Lineup Decision in Ahead of Week 7: Blake Brandel has had an admirable career. He has gone from a late-round offensive tackle to a do-it-all offensive lineman in the NFL. Brandel had a rough outing versus the Eagles — Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter are tremendous — but a tip of the cap to the veteran.

3) Vikings Benched a Starter on Sunday: Truth be told, this one has been ongoing for a while. Ivan Pace saw his snaps decrease last season and has now been dropped down for Eric Wilson. Any chance that the linebacker gets shipped out ahead of the November deadline?

4) Expect the Vikings to Cut a Pricey Addition after the Season: Near universal applause was the reaction during March. Kwesi Adofo-Mensah spent a pile of cash, seemingly addressing major weaknesses along the way. As the season unfolds, the decisions don’t look as tidy, leading to questions about who sticks around.

5) The Vikings’ McCarthy Earns a New Mandate: It’s time, folks. No one can question Carson Wentz’s toughness. His ability to consistently lead these Vikings to wins, though, isn’t there. He’s a backup, which is fine. Time for McCarthy to jump back into the starter’s job and grind out wins.
