Things to do in the Capital Region this weekend: Oct. 24-26

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The weekend is almost here! From Trunk or Treat events to Monster Trucks in Albany to the Adirondack Thunder’s home opener, there are a lot of things to do on October 24, 25, and 26.

Here are some of the events going on around the Capital Region this weekend.

Trunk or Treat events

With Halloween coming up, several Truck or Treat events are going on this weekend.

Haunted attractions

It’s the last weekend before Halloween, so make sure to enjoy these spooky attractions around the Capital Region before they’re gone until next year.

Fall Festival

Saratoga Springs’ Fall Festival is returning to downtown Saratoga Springs on October 25 from noon to 3 p.m. The event features a pumpkin rolling contest, trick-or-treating, a pumpkin scavenger hunt, music and entertainment. Both children and adults are invited to dress up in Halloween costumes.

Dark Echo Expo

The Dark Echo Expo is coming to Empire Live in Albany on October 24 and 25. The Friday event starts at 6 p.m. and the Saturday event starts at noon. The expo features spooky arts, vendors, movies, and more. You can buy tickets on the Empire Live website.

RISE Presents the Rocky Horror Picture Show

RISE Housing & Support Services will be presenting “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” on October 24 at 7:30 p.m. The night will be emceed by drag queens Stella Progress and Starling Silver.

Hot Wheels Monster Trucks

Hot Wheels Monster Trucks are coming back to Albany’s MVP Arena on October 25 and 26 at 2 p.m. The show’s theme will be “Glow-N-Fire,” featuring glowing lights, neon truck decor and fiery elements.

John Cleese and the Holy Grail at 50

Actor and comedian John Cleese is coming to the Palace Theatre in Albany to celebrate 50 years of “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.” The event features a screening of the film, a conversation with Cleese and audience Q&A. You can buy tickets on the Ticketmaster website.

Dead Man’s Hand Tattoo Expo

Dead Man’s Hand Tattoo Expo will be at the Albany Capital Center on October 24, 25 and 26. There will be over 200 tattoo artists at the expo ready to tattoo attendees. Tickets to the expo are available on the expo website.

The Diamond Jubilee at Saratoga Springs Public Library

Saratoga Springs Public Library is celebrating its 75th anniversary by holding a jubilee on October 24. The Diamond Jubilee runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the main floor of the library. Attendees can expect live ’50s music throughout the evening, strolling magic by Magic Matt, and dessert, candy and cash bars.

Saratoga Sports Card Show

The Saratoga Sports Card Show is set for October 26 at the Saratoga Springs City Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $5 and free for kids 12 and under.

Autumn Glow Festival

The Autumn Glow Festival is continuing to light up Rotterdam’s Mabee Farm this season. The festival is made up of 1,000 handmade Chinese lanterns.

The Art of the Brick

The Art of the Brick, the largest display of LEGO art, is running at Armory Studios NY in Schenectady. The exhibit features a 20-foot-long Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton, a life-sized sculpture of a man opening his chest as a cascade of yellow LEGO bricks spill out, and more.

Free parking is available for visitors. You can buy tickets on the Fever website.

Jessica Kirson

Comedian and actor Jessica Kirson will be performing at Universal Preservation Hall in Saratoga Springs on Sunday, October 26 at 7:30 p.m. You can buy tickets on the UPH website.

Adirondack Thunder vs. Trois-Rivières Lions

The Adirondack Thunder will face off against the Trois-Rivières Lions at the Harding Mazzotti Arena in Glens Falls on Saturday, October 25 at 7 p.m. You can buy tickets on the Seat Geek website.
