TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A change is coming to the 2025 Troy Turkey Trot. The Troy City Council unanimously passed a resolution on Thursday to give management of the race to ARE Event Productions, Inc., who had previously been a vendor of the event.
Mayor Carmella Mantello said much of the event is the same; however, a change is coming to help those participating with packet pickups and parking.
“RPI campus will be the new place for packet pickup,” she said.
The 78th Troy Turkey Trot is taking place on Nov. 27. Registration is currently open. This year’s race will feature a 5K, 10K, grade school mile, and the family 1-mile turkey walk.
The trot will kick off at 8 a.m. with the start of the 10K race, followed by the Grade School Mile at 9:30 a.m. The Trot Mile Walk will start at 9:35 a.m. and the 5K begins at 10 a.m.
The mayor said over 2,500 runners have already signed up, and they expect this year’s trot to surpass 2024.
